Color choices: I started out this week with something simple but still very important to design…and me.

I love color…all color, color combinations, shades, gradients, etc, etc. So when it comes time for me to choose a color for my design, I often can’t choose just one…or two. I often look at what color “fits” for the particular design or question how to incorporate a color I’ve been obsessing over into the design.

This leads me into Pantone’s 2012 color of the year, Tangerine Tango. It’s a very fun, bold color that pairs nicely with others. I wanted to know more ‘Color of The Year’ selections from previous years. I did some looking…first color was in 2000 with Cerulean.  As I grouped the yearly color winners, I noticed it’s mainly reds & blues.

So, that’s Pantone take. What I am interested in is hearing from you…what colors do you want to see more of when it comes to the home décor industry?…fashion?...or any other field of design?  Please remember to be descriptive about the color.

Can’t wait to hear the results!!

  1. Greens! For me the color green is so soothing ~ mossy, peacocky, grassy... Love em' all. Hope that was descriptive enough. It's funny that, in 2004 we had our house built & I painted the living room a burnt orange color. Faux finished of course but, I thought I was being original. Ha!
