WELCOMING 2013

This post is dedicated to all my loyal Twitter followers and Facebook supporters as well as my friends and family that have continued to support me along the way.

2012 has come and gone and the events that have transpired have really set the tone for this coming year. The business is still 10 months young and yet I thought so much more would be accomplished. I've come to realize that nothing happens as fast as you want it to and everything must be taken in stride...with that said...I can assure you that this year will be full of obstacles, excitement, and actual products.

...Thanks again & stay tuned!!...

Design Harvest 2012

Chicago’s 3rd annual street design/art fest…and my first. I was a bit surprised that it was such a small venue; granted I wasn’t expecting Neocon big, but something that would envelop a few hours.  Never-the-less it was cute, charming, and quaint.  I was able to meet a couple designers I had blogged about in previous posts…Jacob from Modern Industry and Rocky from Icon Modern (Their products naturally are even more beautiful in person). I also came across some new shops/designers along the way…

The creepiness of the dolls in the entryway sparked my curiosity. This is not your typical antique store…more industrial antique. They look for American antique architectural artifacts and other oddities among commercial and industrial buildings or residential structures between mid-19th century and late 1960’s.  I especially loved these playground pieces.

I have to admit, I’d seen this company in the Chicago Home & Garden magazine, read through each designer’s caption, and that was it. Upon going to the show and seeing everything in person as well as the overall booth/company aesthetic I was really impressed.  If you’re in the area this weekend (October 12,13) they are presenting a Design and Art Opening.
